Alien trees such as pines are a target for the South African government's 'Working for Water' programme, which aims to eradicate water-thirsty alien plants. More than 6, 000 delegates meet in the Kenyan capital Nairobi from 06 to 17 November 2006 for the 12th UN Climate Change Conference which is geared toward helping developing countries deal with the effects of climate change and pushing industrialized countries to commit to a post-Kyoto Protocol framework.
